Class 4 is made
up with children from Years 4 and 5. Our class teacher is Mrs
Foley and our teaching assistant is Mrs Hagger.
We hope you enjoy reading about the work we've
done so far this term!
Each week we 'Escape to Egypt' to find out about life in Ancient
Egypt. We have learnt about hieroglyphics and practised being
scribes like the children of Ancient Egypt.
We received a letter asking us to produce an advert for Mr.
S. Phinx Estate Agency. We found out a lot about Ancient Egyptian
housing and then wrote an advert for the newspaper. Would you
like to buy this house?
We learnt about the games which children played in Ancient Egypt
and held a games afternoon.
We ran knee races...........
.......played The Snake Game......
.......and Alquerque.
In Science we have been investigating solids,
liquids and gases. We found out about the particles in the three
states of matter:
In RE we have been thinking about rules for life and how they
are important in our world. After a discussion we decided a
world without rules was not the kind of world we wanted to live
in. We ranked The Ten Commandments in order of importance and
then wrote our own rules for life, which we wrote on to a tablet
of stone.
In Literacy we are studying explanation texts. We learnt about
the process of mummification and acted it out to help us to
understand it.
We then wrote a lecture to apprentice embalmers
to explain the process to them.
