Reminder - Parent Forum this Friday 2nd February at 9.00am

At the beginning of each forum I will share with you some of the things we have been doing in school or are about to embark on. This will also be an opportunity for you to ask questions in addition to finding out what's been going on. Each meeting will also have a focus topic. Gaining parental insight helps us to formulate our policies and procedures.  If you have a topic you think would make a useful focus please let me know.

The focus for this forum is communicating with parents about their child’s learning.

Please let the school office know if you will be attending.

Pelham Praise worship group will be leading an assembly about this half term's value - courage - at 2:45pm on Tuesday 6th February.  All are welcome to join us for this assembly, which is led by children in the Pelham Praise group.

There have been cases of headlice reported in school recently.

In order to help parents eradicate headlice from their children, the advice is that all parents regularly wet comb their child's hair to check for lice.  Please see the advice on our website under ‘Day to Day’ or go to www.nhs.uk and click on Health A-Z for Headlice information and treatment.

Library book returns

The new school library system has now been implemented and is running well.  During the time that it was being installed, library reminders and fines were suspended. There are currently 56 books on loan that have been on loan for between 33 and 116 days!  Could you please have a look at home and return these books at your child’s next library session. The borrower of a book that has been on loan for more than 28 days, will receive a reminder letter via email and any book that is lost or irreparably damaged will be required to pay £5 towards its replacement

A message from Ashdon & Saffron Walden Young Farmers

‘Ashdon & Saffron Walden Young Farmers will be collecting Christmas trees in the Furneux Pelham area on Saturday 6th January. If you would like your tree collected, please leave it out the front of your house from 9am with a suggested donation of £5. All donations are going to Accuro - a fantastic local charity that offer services to children and adults with a disability and their families. We raised an incredible £1600 in 2017 for Parkinson’s UK with our Christmas tree collection, so please help us match this in 2018!’
