Residential and Day Visits
Boreatton Park 2015
From 18th to 22nd May Years 5 and 6 spent a wonderful week at PGL in Shropshire!
We passed the week fighting our fears of heights and developing new and amazing sporting skills. We learnt to shoot targets using rifles and bows and arrows, we learnt to drive quad bikes and abseil down cliffs. Many of us conquered our fears by negotiating an obstacle course on ropes high up in the air and we learnt to work as a team as we climbed up wooden poles spaced further than our own heights. The excitement didn’t stop at tea-time – we took part in team games every evening and the week of evening activities ended with a celebration at the disco!
The week away was a fantastic opportunity to try new and exciting challenges, but also gave us the chance to develop skills such as initative and independence as for most of us this was the first time we had spent a week away from our families.
