All parents who have children at the school are automatically members of the Furneux Pelham School Association, a registered charity, run by a committee of parents and teachers, aimed at raising money to enhance the education of our children at the school.  Anyone with a child at the school can be on the committee, which meets one or twice a term to drive an active fund-raising programme to support all manner of activities at the school.
Recent donations include:

  • £6,388 for the new light tunnels in the library and corridor area
  • £5,000 towards the Early Years Foundation Stage Outdoor play equipment
  • £2,800 for new staging
  • £2,210 for new window and door blinds
  • £2,000 towards the construction of a new bicycle shelter
  • £2,000 towards new books

In addition we typically support a number of smaller items too – such as the welcome bears all reception children get on their first day,  an outdoor table tennis table, and covering the cost of coaches for swimming lessons and school trips.

It is only possible to provide this level of financial support to the school if we continue to raise money at events held in the local area which the whole local community can join in with too. Recent events have included:

  • Fireworks night for families
  • Discos for the children
  • DVDs and photos of the school nativity performance and summer play for families
  • Pamper evenings for the ladies
  • Social events like dinner dances for the ladies and gentlemen
  • Christmas and Summer fetes for families
  • BBQ and Campout for families
  • Childrens activities during the Furneux Festival
