Visits and Visitors

Visits and visitors provide memorable experiences for the children and often give their learning a real context. We are proud of the number and range of enrichment activities we provide. We regularly welcome visitors to the school to enrich the children’s learning across all curriculum areas.
From athletes and astronomers to firemen, writers and scientists each visit excites and inspires the children at Furneux Pelham School. We hold history workshops where the children dress as World War II evacuees, Vikings, Ancient Greeks or Victorians for whole day experiences.   The children have gazed in amazement at the stars in a giant portable planetarium and worked with artists to produce banners for our school hall.
Over the last year our visits, visitors and workshops have included trips to the National Gallery, The Sedgewick Museum, Southend Aquarium,  Hyde Hall, and School Pantomine, along with workshops from West End in School, and Learning to Felt, Greek Workshop, Virtual Reality... Mountains , as well as residential trips for children in Y5 and Y6.Drama workshops, and  visits from Coram Life Bus, and Bishop Michael.
