Admissions

We understand that choosing where to send your child to school is a big decision and are delighted that you are considering Furneux Pelham School.

We offer small classes with high expectations where children achieve well in a caring environment.

The best way to appreciate our school is to come along and visit us at a time that suits you and your family.

We would be proud to show you around during the school day so that you can see us in action and ask any questions.

Please contact Mrs Monk on 01279 777344 or to make an appointment – we look forward to welcoming you.

“My four children have all gone to Furneux Pelham school. They are four very different individuals with a wide range of personalities and academic abilities. The school has given each of them not just the best childhood memories but has also made them the kind of human being you are happy to know. That is a gift that will carry them through life, and for that I will be forever grateful.”

Furneux Pelham School admits children from between 4 and 11 years old and at the time of writing, we have 88 children on the school roll. As a Church of England Voluntary Controlled School, we follow the county admissions policy and in the case of oversubscription, criteria are applied by the Local Authority to allocate places. We can admit twenty pupils in each year group. Children who are going to be five by August 31st of that academic year attend full time from September.

Parents of preschool children who are due to start school in September should complete the online application form.

The local authority processes admissions and successful applicants for places are informed by them. Parents are then invited to a Coming to School meeting and children are invited to visit for a morning in the summer term.

Applying for places in other year groups

The above link will also take you to the information that is required for making an ‘In Year’ application i.e. an application to any other year group apart from Reception. You must apply online to the Local Authority rather than the school via the following link, although we always welcome visits and would be more than happy to give you a tour of our school and answer any questions you may have before making your application.
