Girls on Board
Girls on Board
Through helping our children to ‘grow secure roots’ and as part of our continued Pastoral programme, we are a Girls on Board school.
Girls on Board is a programme which was developed by Andrew Hampton, Headteacher of Thorpe Hall School in Essex. The aim of the programme is to help girls, their parents and the teachers in our school understand the complexities and dynamics of girl friendships.
By way of supporting the girls the school offers weekly sessions with the girls to help them communicate, understand and ultimately resolve any issues which arise. Girls on Board sessions are used with pupils in Years 3-6 – this is mainly girls, but where boys are within the friendship group there is also the option for them to be part of this.
